"If you are a Realtor, like me, you probably have been conditioned to think of leads as sellers and buyers. I approached VD with that same mindset. I would request lists looking for homeowners with seller related scripts. In similar fashion, I would request list for renters that I could approach with my first-time home buyer scripts.
Initially, I was frustrated that people on the homeowner list were renters and vice-versa. Recently, I changed my mindset. I now request a list of consumers without breaking the list down into homeowners or renters. I set up my script to ask the caller if they are looking to move in the next six months. I let the caller identify themselves as a homeowner or renter. I found this approach works better for me. I still get a lot of callbacks from missed calls. Even came across another realtor. No matter, I keep answering the phone. So far, I have three buyers in for pre-qualification after making about 650 drops over two days.
I have not approached other Realtors about using VD for lead gen because I have not had any personal success. I believe all of that will change soon. I see myself hosting webinars and signing up other Realtors to help them with their lead gen. All it takes is being persistent and make those voice drops every day."
